The Caribee fiberglass body is Fiberfab’s latest design innovation intended exclusively for front engined cars. Fitting into the design spectrum between sports car and grand touring styles, the Caribee incorporates features which are usually found only on prohibitively priced factory prototypes. Smoothly contoured hood indents, saucy rear spoiler and exciting gull-wing doors all serve to enhance the flawless and eye catching appearance of the Caribee’s flowing aerodynamic lines.

Tha Caribee is suitable for use on a number of well engineered and readily available sports car chassis. By utilizing the existing metal inner panels of the various chassis, coupled with the built-in paneling of the Caribee body, easy installation is facilitated on the MGA, Austin Healey 4, Austin Healey 6 and Triumph TR-3. With slight modification, the Caribee can also be mounted on the Triumph TR-4 and TR-4 (IRS).

Like all Fiberfab body kits, the Caribee is constructed with extensive inner panels, reinforcements and wide flanges which contribute to ease of assembly and the unsurpassed quality of the finished product.

The Cariboo’s GT coupe styling crafted in fiberglass gives it tremendous advantages over the aged, rusted-out, leaky convertible bodies it was designed to replace. Comfortable and weathertight, the Caribee is rust and corrosion proof  which make it a practical as well as a beautiful conversion.

Top speed and acceleration are naturally improved due to the Caribee’s aerodynamic shape and favorable weight savings. For those wishing to further increase the performance of the finished car, a V-8 installation Is guaranteed to provide the desired boost. The Austin Healey chassis is especially suited to this conversion and Fiberfab’s own Caribee prototype was powered by the 289 Ford V-8.

The Caribee body is delivered with the gullwing doors hinged and mounted. The doors have dual hinges on each side. This quietly sensational door arrangement is one of the most striking features of the Caribee design.

Unlike the majority of GT automobiles, the Caribee has a spacious interior offering a surprisingly abundant amount of head, leg and shoulder room. The cockpit area extends uninterrupted into the rear section, thus providing an extremely large and easily accessible luggage compartment.

To facilitate engine access, the entire hood section of the Caribee Is hinged to tilt forward. The dashboard, headlight indents, and rear license plate recess are incorporated into the body design. The dashboard, incidentally, lends itself to a number of easily constructed and striking instrument cluster arrangements. The Caribee reinforced windshield frame is designed to accept the stock Sting Ray glass, the windshield, along with the side and rear windows, is provided with all Deluxe Caribee kits.
